Addictions Counselors (Year Round Recruiting)

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate ability to effectively engage clients with substance abuse and mental health issues.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand medication assisted treatment.
  • Provide individual, family and group counseling sessions with focus on addiction related topics.
  • Responsible for intakes and assessments, problem identification, treatment planning, recording progress notes, and developing discharge plans, review of continuing care plans.
  • Responsible for maintaining contact with referral sources and other agencies involved in client care (i.e. child welfare and criminal justice system).
  • If licensed, knowledge of best mental health practices for co-occurring clients
  • Ability to provide individual, group and family therapy.

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or higher in chemical dependency or related field
  • 2 – 4 years experience in behavioral healthcare, specifically addictions or related field.
  • Must haveminimum of Alcohol and Drug Trainee Status or one of the following certification or license with the State of Maryland:  Licensed Graduate Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LGADC), Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW), Certified Associate Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD)or Certified Supervised Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CSC-AD).

This position will be based at two of our facilities, New Directions in Parkville (Baltimore suburbs) and Mountain Manor Treatment Center in Baltimore City. The physician will provide leadership for innovative programming at a Residential Treatment Center for young adults, and will participate in coverage for  the Adult Integrated Dual Disorders Treatment program, the Youth Opioid Outpatient Program, and others.

We have an enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team, with a collaborative work environment — committed to implementation of innovative and evidence-based programming such as CBT, MI, mindfulness approaches, integration of relapse prevention pharmacotherapy, family therapy, cognitive rehabilitation.

Active training site for area academic centers with opportunities for teaching residents, fellows, psychology interns, nurse practitioners etc. Active research program with opportunities for involvement in addiction pharmacotherapy clinical trials, publications and collaborations. RESEARCH ASSISTANTS for addiction center

Maryland Treatment Centers – Baltimore MD

Seeking full time research assistant for NIDA-sponsored clinical trails. Responsibilities would include:

  • Recruit, instruct and coordinate research subjects and/or volunteers, as appropriate to specific study objectives
  • Plan, implement and maintain data collection and analysis systems in support of research protocol; may coordinate the collection and analysis of research data
  • Demonstrate proficiency in performing basic study related procedures

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelors degree in a scientific field required
    •1 year of experience in clinical research preferred
    •Demonstrate competence in oral and written communication
  • Masters degree in social work or psychology preferred if seeking related clinical experiences

 Substance Abuse Counselor — FT

The overall responsibility of the Outpatient Adolescent Counselor is to provide the delivery of effective clinical services to chemically dependent and dually diagnosed adolescents and to assure continuity of care through appropriate assessment, treatment planning, and referral.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Conducting patient interviews and individual counseling for purposes of evaluation and assessment
2. Constructing treatment plans in a coordinated effort with the patient, parent/guardian and other clinical team members
3. Facilitating and directing group counseling
4. Developing, maintaining, and presenting prevention and education materials to the patients
5. Making accurate timely and legible entries in patient record, adhering to both clinical and administrative policy and procedures

Minimum Requirements:
Technical School or AA Degree Maryland Board Of Professional Counselors Certification of CSC-AD or Trainee Status 1-2 years of relevant experience
Preferred Background: Bachelor’s Degree CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LPC, LCADC, or LCSW-C 2-3 years of relevant experience

Classroom Instructor and Activities Coordinator

Our facility is a 26 bed residential center for adolescent males located in Parkville, MD (near Towson). We currently have an opening for a Classroom Instructor and an Activities Coordinator.

Classroom Instructor:

The overall responsibility of the Classroom Instructor is to provide instruction to students based on the needs specified in each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Personal Education Plan (PEP). Classroom sizes are small to help increase interaction between the instructor and the students. The instructor needs to have experience working with grades 6th-12th and in special education. This great teaching opportunity is Monday- Friday from 7:30a- 4pm.

Minimum Requirements:
-Bachelors Degree in any subject
-1 year of experience
-Prefer Praxis I completion (if scored 1180 on SAT, Praxis I is not required)
-Maryland State Teaching Certificate or eligible to become certified.
Preferred Requirements:
-Masters Degree
-2 to 4 years of experience

Activities Coordinator:

The overall responsibility of the activities coordinator is to assess, plan, implement and evaluate activity programs that meet the functional needs of our patients and support their treatment goals. The schedule is Tues-Sat 1pm-9pm

Minimum Requirements:
Two years of post-secondary education focused on recreation, occupational therapy or a related area.
Successful experience facilitating activities in a structured recreational program.

Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience in a psychiatric treatment program
Experience with music and instruments

Chesapeake Treatment Center, a 26 bed residential center for adolescent males located in Parkville, MD (near Towson) has IMMEDIATE full-time and PRN, Second shift and overnight Mental Health Technician positions available. The overall responsibility of the Mental Health Technician is to develop a therapeutic relationship with and provide appropriate guidance and supervision to adolescent males.

Minimum Requirements:
-High School Diploma
-1 year of experience working with adolescents
-Experience in residential treatment

-Bachelors Degree
-2 to 4 years of experience in residential treatment
